International digital marketing consultant
International marketing with oversight and execution
I'm Pieter Hogenbirk, a freelance digital Marketer based in Huizen. I help with international marketing challenges where campaigns, websites, data and stakeholders come together. Do you need support across markets, collaboration in English or better coordination with local agencies? I combine hands-on search marketing with clear decision-making. I distinguish between what can be shared internationally and what needs attention within an individual market.
International growth is not, to me, a reason to roll out identical campaigns everywhere. First, I want to understand the objectives, resources and information available. Then I discuss how to organise execution, where local input is needed and which insights will help us adjust. That gives the collaboration a practical foundation.
Connecting multilingual SEA and SEO
Assessing search advertising market by market
For international SEA, I look at account structure, search terms, budgets and measurement. I want differences between markets to be visible before drawing conclusions. High traffic does not automatically make a campaign successful; relevance and contribution to your objective belong in the same assessment. We agree in advance how local language input and substantive checks will be handled.
Connecting content with discoverability
With SEO, I examine how website architecture, existing content and search behaviour fit together. For multilingual websites, I want to avoid treating translation as complete localisation. I discuss what subject expertise is available and where additional review remains necessary. My international experience is not a claim to speak every language: it is a basis for organising the work carefully.
International experience from my CV
At Landal GreenParks, I worked as a freelance SEA Manager through Reprise Digital. My remit covered the Dutch, Belgian, German, French, Austrian and Danish markets. I focused on reporting automation, large-scale tests and automation for responsive search ads. This assignment connected everyday campaign optimisation with comparing and organising work across multiple markets.
For TotalEnergies, I worked through Duke & Grace on the Belgian rebranding of Lampiris. I mapped existing content and advised on merging, rewriting, redirecting and creating new material. I also provided recommendations for setting up the new Google Ads account. I delivered my insights and output in English within an international business environment. In Belgium, I also worked for Audax, whose labels operate in the Netherlands and Belgium, and for dentsu international I optimised, among others, the Google Ads account of Intergamma/GAMMA België.
At Ansell, I held a global role as Digital Analytics & SEO Manager. My work included marketing intelligence, dashboards, website architecture and content enrichment for the global website, spanning 44 countries and 24 languages. I also contributed to the transition to GA4 and a global cookie solution. That work showed how closely international SEO and dependable data collection are connected.
International accounts and stakeholders
At Montblanc, I analysed, optimised and coordinated Google Ads and Bing accounts. I was responsible for an advertising budget of 500,000 to 600,000 euros per month, challenged the agencies in the more than 70 countries where the brand operates and built dashboards in Looker Studio. My work covered the brand's operating markets, from South America to Europe, Australia and Asia. That breadth calls for oversight, but also caution when comparing figures without understanding the context.
“…his expertise in both SEA and SEO really helped us keep the performance up during a transition phase.”
— Piero Milione, Montblanc
For the agency Valtech, I worked in an international environment, mainly for ASML: with worldwide Google Ads campaigns I helped build brand awareness and recruit engineers. At Manify Agency, I also worked for the American companies Western Mixer and Western Landscape Supply.
For Vattenfall, I worked within the Brand Media Team on international owned media planning, publishing and social content boosting. I collaborated with local agencies and developed channel strategies and content plans. The markets were Denmark, Germany, Finland, France, the Netherlands, Norway, the United Kingdom and Sweden. I also helped establish an editorial board and arrangements for channel governance.
A shared approach with room for local differences
I start with objectives, ownership and available information. Then I discuss how central and local stakeholders will work together. Who checks content? Who decides on budget? Who interprets an unexpected change? Through project management, I make those agreements explicit. This helps avoid the same question circulating between teams without anyone owning the next step.
Through analytics, I work towards insights that support useful conversations. I connect them to a clear strategy, so reporting remains tied to execution. I treat differences between markets as prompts for investigation, not automatic proof that an approach works everywhere. I support new decisions with the data and local knowledge available.
